Brady Yarnall, founder of FutureSprouts, on his family farm
Why we started

From a family produce stand to your community.

FutureSprouts was founded by Brady Yarnall, a Chester County student who grew up on a working family farm, goats, chickens, and six years behind the family produce stand. Growing food teaches things a textbook can't: patience, responsibility, and where dinner actually comes from. FutureSprouts exists to hand that experience to kids who don't have a farm out the back door.

We're youth-led and all-volunteer. Nobody here draws a salary, your donation buys seeds, soil, tools, and teaching materials, not overhead.

Our promise to donors

You'll see where it went.

After every program and event, we document what was distributed and who it reached, photos, counts, and partner confirmations. We'll publish our impact on this site after each season, and our financials are available to any donor on request. If you give to FutureSprouts, you'll be able to point at something growing because of it.

Questions

Donor FAQ

Is my donation tax-deductible?

Yes. FutureSprouts is a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization (EIN: 41-3415589), and no goods or services are provided in exchange for donations. PayPal emails your receipt automatically, keep it for tax time. For a single gift of $250 or more the IRS requires a written acknowledgment from us, so email us and we will send one for your records.

Where does the money actually go?

Seeds, soil, garden tools, raised-bed materials, and printed educational guides. We're all-volunteer with no paid staff, so program supplies are essentially our only cost.

Can I cancel a monthly donation?

Anytime, in about 30 seconds: log into PayPal → profile icon → Settings → Payments → Manage automatic payments → FutureSprouts → Stop.

Can I give supplies instead of money?

Absolutely, seeds, tools, gloves, and soil are just as valuable to us. Ship directly from our wishlist or use the materials form on Get Involved for local drop-off.

Does my employer match donations?

Many do! Search your company's giving portal for "FutureSprouts" or EIN 41-3415589, or ask HR, matching can double your gift at no cost to you.
